For much of the US tomorrow is the Mid Term Election primaries. This is an opportunity to let your voice be heard and to make a choice of who you want to be your advocate and voice for Local, State, and National issues and programs. What are your concerns?: Inflation? Roads? Healthcare? Interest Rates? Education? Immigration? Taxes? Social Issues? The list can go on. The person or people that you choose are the ones who will attempt to address those issues and develop a plan to find solutions. This mid term election is one of the most important that one can vote in but is generally one that has a meager turnout. 20-40% of the people will decide what, or who, you get to vote for in the general election, and many times they will have already made the decision for you on Issues, Referendums', taxes. and programs.
I vote in every election, some of you may be of "like Mind". So it may be OK for me to be your vote or your voice. My vote will carry the power of 4, 5, or maybe even 6, other voters who do not show up. I or someone else will be the vote to decide your tax increase or the programs you support and pay for. Someone else down the street from you will decide the issues facing your local Police, Fire, and Schools.
When I hear someone complaining or bemoaning the "State of Affairs" or the individuals who are speaking for them I generally ask if they voted in every election for the past 10, 20, or 30 years. Seldom do I hear an affirmative reply. They generally were too busy, had a previously scheduled commitment, or didn't want to 'waste their vote'.
Well, Tomorrow I will be at the polls nice and early so I can preform my duty, obligation, commitment. I will vote!. I hope and pray that you are there too. Or at least some time tomorrow. The polls open early and close late. Be there or be silent.....
