"My Idea of a group decision is to look in the mirror" - Warren Buffett.
I quote Warren often because I believe many of his axioms are fundamental "secrets" to successfully investing and growing a portfolio. They are really not so much secrets, but well-known strategies and tenets.
Many people ask why I, or we as the Gemini Wealth Group, read so many economists' viewpoints and research investment strategies and forecasting. The simple answer is, in an effort to better advise you.
When Eve and I moved a couple years ago, as things always happen when you move into a new-to-you home, the kitchen sink started leaking. Handyman me said. "I can fix this"... and I did. Two days later leaking again. Grrrrr. I tightened the pipes again. Used plumbers tape, etc. Two days later leaking again. Double Grrrr. I called our plumber. He said the sink used to have a Garbage disposal and the dishwasher was plumbed to go into the disposal. When the new dishwasher was added and the disposal was removed, probably because it broke and instead of replacing it, they just plumbed the dishwasher directly to the sink drain pipe.... I had options. Redo and modify the sink plumbing and or add a new disposal to have the dishwasher drain into the new disposal. We chose option B. The new disposal and plumbing have worked great ever since. Something that seemed so simple was resolved by someone who does those things everyday. I probably could have figured it out eventually, and maybe done the work myself... but to me I'll have the peace of mind that it probably won't leak again soon and I'll read up on, and maybe research, portfolios that invest in home improvement stores.
Investing involves risk and the potential to lose principal. No investment strategy can guarantee a profit or protect against loss in declining markets. 07/19
